Editing component details

Each aircraft component has a set of details describing the physical part: make, model, year of manufacture, and serial numbers. These details are set when you add the aircraft and can be updated at any time.

To edit a component, navigate to the aircraft and open the component you want to update. From the component summary, choose to edit the component, make your changes, and save.

You need Read and Write access to edit components.

Type certificate

The component edit page also shows the type certificate associated with the component. Recording the correct type certificate number identifies which FAA design approval applies to that part. Manager users can select or change the type certificate from this page. See selecting a type certificate for details.

Replacing a component

If you are replacing an engine or propeller, contact support for assistance. We can archive the component being replaced and start a new record for the new component. Airframe components cannot be replaced.
