How aircraft data is organized

The word “Ledger” in MX Ledger comes from the primary organization principle on the platform. All aircraft data are organized into a Ledger where changes are tracked over time. The terms Ledger and Aircraft are interchangeable when using MX Ledger.

Components

Components represent the physical elements of the aircraft: airframe, engines, and propellers. Each component records its make, model, and serial numbers. Maintenance log entries are recorded against a specific component, reflecting how traditional paper log books are organized.

When you add an aircraft using its FAA registration, MX Ledger configures the components automatically based on the registration data. If you add an aircraft manually, you specify the component configuration as part of the setup process.

Ledger history

MX Ledger retains a versioned history of your aircraft data. While browsing historical records is not currently available, this history means that data accidentally deleted or incorrectly edited can be restored. Contact support if you need to recover a previous version of a record.
