Understanding log entries

Log entries document maintenance and inspection work performed on an aircraft component. Each entry belongs to a specific component.

What a log entry records

Each log entry includes:

  • Completion date — the date the work was completed
  • Total time — the component’s total time when the work was completed
  • Time since major overhaul — the component’s time since its most recent major overhaul; only recorded when relevant
  • Work performed — a description of the work being logged
  • Signed by — the name of the certified individual or organization that signed the entry
  • Certificate type — the type of certificate held by the signatory (Repair Station, A&P/IA, or Pilot/Owner)
  • Certificate number — the identifier for the signatory’s certificate
  • Tags — labels to categorize the type of work, such as Annual or 100-Hour

Log entries support attachments such as photos, PDFs, and other supporting documents. Imported log entries will include the images used to create the log entry.

Incomplete entries

Completion date is the only required field for a log entry. You can save a log entry before all remaining fields are complete.
